The extended wheel arches of the JE Design Leon Cupra 300 grab your attention first. Linked by side skirts that flesh out the cars flanks, they give the car its purposeful stance. Up front the aggressive looking ‘face’ of this conversion comes from a new front bumper with prominent covers for its large air intakes. Over and above this (5,117 euro) widebody conversion the finishing touch is a three-position adjustable rear wing (1,190 euro) is available to complete the optical package. To improve the cars stance and handling JE DESIGN offers a set of 20mm lower springs (191 euro) calibrated to match the factory dampers. Together with a set of wheel spacers the ride height reduction perfectly places the 9.5J x 19-inch JE DESIGN Y-Spoke wheels and 265/30ZR19 tyres (2,380 euro per set) in the optical centre of the big arches. A fast car needs a fitting soundtrack, and JE Design provides this with their EC approved stainless steel flap exhaust system. Flap operation is linked to the factory driving profile selection control. When the flap is closed (Comfort and Sport modes) the exhaust sounds discreetly sporty, with the system only releasing its full singing voice in the Cupra mode. Visually distinguished by an oval 160 x 90 mm tailpipe on each side of the rear valence, this sport exhaust costs 2,499 euros. As with other JE Design conversions and components, their Leon Cupra 300 tuning programme comes with German TUV and Swiss certification to a possible 285km/h top speed with an uprated engine.
