JE DESIGN presents their Cupra Ateca Performance Package and Widebody conversion

  • Power boost to 360hp for sportscar performance
  • Wheel arch extensions create Widebody look
  • Individuality from bespoke 19 and 20-inch alloy wheels

“Inspired by the racetrack, built for the road,” is how Cupra, the Seat performance sub-brand, describes its 300hp Ateca. With a powerful engine, and intelligent four-wheel drive system under its stylish bodywork the Cupra Ateca raises the bar in the high performance compact SUV segment.

Founded by Jochen Eckelt in 1992, Europe’s premier Seat tuner JE DESIGN, considers this to be just the starting point. Their comprehensive tuning programme adds icing to the already rich Cupra Ateca cake with a power boost to 360hp (265kW), suspension and wheel/tyre packages, and a Widebody conversion.

At a glance the most obvious JE DESIGN modification is the 2,142-euro Widebody conversion applicable to all Seat Ateca 5FP models. These wide wheel arch extensions attachments have full German TÜV and Swiss certification, and are able to house wheels up to 10.0J x 20 inches, shod with 265/30ZR20 or 275/30ZR20 tyres depending on the wheel offset.

The two new wheel designs recently added to the JE DESIGN tuning programme are available in 19 and 20-inch sizes. The first is the “Fivestar” design, whose largest size is 10.0J x 19-inch ET 30, wrapped in 265/35ZR19 rubber. Costing 2,289 euros per set these "Fivestar" wheels are finished in a striking black gloss, with a choice of polished or black silk matt face.

The second design is the “Twin Five Star”, whose largest size is 10.0J x 20-inch ET35. The “Twin Five Star” comes in Black gloss or Black gloss with a polished front, and suits 275/30ZR20 tyres.

The visual balance and stance of a car is at its best when the wheels are centred in the wheel arches. The 30mm drop in ride height require to achieve this on the J E DESIGN Cupra Ateca comes from a set of lowering springs, modestly priced at 271 euros.

The finishing touch to the exterior is a totally practical one, with bumper protection panels coming in a choice of matt silver or gloss black at 99 euros each.

Europe's premier Seat tuner helps the Cupras Ateca achieve sportscar performance with a piggyback ECU that activates on full throttle. The more aggressive fuel, ignition and boost mapping that requires 98 RON (Super Plus) unleaded fuel to work optimally boosts output of the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine from 300hp (221 kW) to 360hp (265 kW), with peak torque up from 400Nm to 450Nm.

Thanks to the perfect traction of the 4WD system the enhanced output rockets the compact SUV to 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds, some 0.4 sec faster than standard. And where the factory car runs out of steam at 247km/h, the JE DESIGN Cupra Ateca pulls hard all the way to 259km/h. The performance upgrade is offered with a two-year guarantee from the initial registration up to a maximum of 100,000 kilometres.

The JE DESIGN Widebody conversion with alloy wheels and lowering springs costs 7,103 euros, or 9,093 euros with the engine upgrade. All prices include VAT, but exclude painting and fitting. JE DESIGN offers complete conversions at their premises, in which case full TUV certification is provided.

JE DESIGN will continue to expand their Seat Ateca and Cupra Ateca tuning programme over the coming months.
