ROWE Racing won
the 48th ADAC TOTAL 24h race Nürburgring in a heart-stopping final.
With an advantage of 15.452 seconds after 85 laps in extremely
difficult weather conditions, Dutchman Nick Catsburg drove the Rowe
Racing BMW M6 GT3 (starting number 99), equipped with KW Competition
racing sport dampers, across the finish line first. The suspension
manufacturer KW automotive equipped a total of 44 vehicles for the
endurance classic. In addition to Rowe Racing's overall victory in BMW
Motorsport's 50th 24-hour race premiere and third place for BMW Team
Schnitzer, KW automotive is celebrating with its motorsport customers
ten class victories in the "Green Hell". More information at
www.kwsuspensions.net "Congratulations to ROWE Racing and BMW Motorsport and many thanks for the confidence in our Solid Piston Technology", says KW CEO Jürgen Wohlfarth. "We are delighted that we were able to contribute to this success for our partners." Even under difficult conditions on the Nordschleife, the 4-way adjustable KW Competition racing shocks with their solid piston technology were a great match. " In future, we will also equip the new BMW M4 GT3 with our so-called KW Solid Piston Technology", Jürgen Wohlfarth continues. This solid piston technology enables direct damping at very small strokes and compared to other systems, ensures cavitation-free performance at low gas pressure. "We are already using our solid piston dampers for more and more applications and are consistently adapting this racing technology to our road developments, such as the new KW coilover suspension kit Variant 5." It was the first time in ten years that a BMW won the ADAC TOTAL 24h Race Nürburgring. KW automotive, the suspension manufacturer, congratulates its motorsports customer Rowe Racing and BMW Motorsport on this great achievement. 50 years after the first edition of the endurance classic, the ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3 with starting number 99, equipped with 4-way adjustable KW Competition shock absorbers, crossed the finish line first after an impressive catch-up race on Sunday. The dramatic overtaking maneuvers, continuous rain, overall victory candidates dropped out, race aborted after more than nine hours and a restart in the early Sunday morning hours dominated the headlines. There were hardly any more adverse circumstances in the history of the endurance classic than in 2020. In the dramatic final phase, Nick Catsburg, who shared the cockpit with Alexander Sims and Nick Yelloly, drove the BMW M6 GT3 to the finish with a 15.452-second lead over the second-placed Audi. The BMW Team Schnitzer with drivers Augusto Farfus, Jens Klingmann, Martin Tomczyk, and Sheldon van der Linde in the M6 GT3 with start number 42 came third. It is the first overall victory in the endurance classic in the Eifel region for Rowe Racing, founded in 2010 by the mineral oil manufacturer Rowe. The second Rowe Racing BMW M6 GT3 with start number 98 crossed the finish line in fourth place with Marco Wittmann, Tom Blomqvist, and Philipp Eng. The best Porsche was Frikadelli Racing with the Porsche 911 GT3 R with start number 30 and the driver's Lars Kern, Mathieu Jaminet, Maxime Martin, and Lance David Arnold in seventh place overall. An impressive record of success at the Nürburgring Nordschleife Besides the overall victory, KW Motorsport customers celebrate a total of ten class victories at the 48th ADAC TOTAL 24h Race Nürburgring 2020. After the Zakspeed victory in 2002 and the Manthey Porsche successes in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2018, the overall victory for ROWE Racing is the eighth overall victory for KW automotive. The KW racing suspensions are manufactured as homologated series development for numerous GT3, GT4, TCR, and Cup vehicles or as individual applications. In addition to 5-way, 4-way, 3-way, and 2-way adjustable dampers or with a fixed pre-configured damper setup, KW automotive puts together interesting packages that offer tuning and development services on the KW 7-post vehicle dynamic rig as well as on-site service on the track by its engineers and technicians.
